Toys for Tots Charity Ball
TRC’s third annual Toys for Tots Charity Ball will take place Saturday, October 3, at the Crown Theater, 21 East Third Street in Jamestown, beginning at 7:00.
The event will feature “Dancing for the Stars,” an amateur dance competition open to anyone; a variety show; and a silent auction. While that alone would make the evening worthwhile, the buzz around The Resource Center concerns a performance by the “Village People” – a group of TRC employees who are donning costumes to perform a dance routine to hits from the 1970s band.
Tickets are $25 and include hors d’ouvre and dessert. Tickets are available from The Resource Center (phone 661-1433) and Guys & Dolls Dance Studio; studio owner Laure Cimino is choreographing the Village People number.
Proceeds from the event support the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots drive in Chautauqua County. Under the leadership of its Employment Services Department, TRC has been coordinating the Toys for Tots drive since 2001. With the support and generosity of local businesses and community residents, TRC has been able to make the holidays merrier for more than 2,000 children each year.
