The Resource Center will host a chicken barbecue Thursday, August 27, to raise funds for the Riverwalk Community Labyrinth. The event, catered by All-American Barbecue, will be held at the site where the labyrinth is being created: in the field across the street from TRC’s Michael J. Raymond Center, 75 Jones & Gifford Avenue in Jamestown. The barbecue begins at 11:00 a.m. and lasts until the meals are gone. Cost is $8 and includes a half-chicken, two side orders and a roll. The third annual Toys for Tots Charity Ball will be held Saturday, October 3, at the Crown Theater in Jamestown. The event will feature a performance by TRC’s version of the Village People; an amateur dance competition; a variety show; and a silent auction. Tickets are $25 and include hors d’oeuvre and dessert. Proceeds benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots drive in Chautauqua County, which is coordinated each year by The Resource Center. Click here for more details.

The Resource Center’s 21st annual Disability Awareness Awards Celebration will be held Tuesday, October 13, at TRC’s Administrative Offices, 200 Dunham Avenue in Jamestown. The event honors individuals with disabilities with disabilities who have made tremendous strides in their personal lives, as well as businesses and community members who have supported people with disabilities.
